A 15 Billion Dollar Altcoin Enters a Long-Awaited Period
One of the largest altcoins, Cardano (ADA), is preparing to establish a fully decentralized ecosystem soon.

Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson announced that they have reached the final stage of a process that has been in the works for years.
Decentralized ecosystem being established
The final stage of the Voltaire era in Cardano’s roadmap will begin at the end of this month. In this context, the Cardano Node will be upgraded to version 9.0.
Stake pool operators in the system will transition to the latest version. Afterward, a hard fork will usher in the Voltaire era.
According to the announcements, once the transition is complete, the Cardano blockchain will no longer be managed by the firm IOHK, which developed the project. Instead, governance will be entirely handled by community members.
“The most advanced system”
Charles Hoskinson stated, “It appears that the Cardano Node will reach 9.0 in June. This means that Cardano will be ready for the Chang fork, and it is expected that 70% of the SPOs will install the new node.”
Hoskinson added, “Then, a hard fork could be executed to transition Cardano to the Voltaire Era.”
The Cardano founder commented, “We will have the most advanced blockchain governance system, an annual budget, a treasury, and the wisdom of our entire community to guide us.”
In the first phase of Voltaire, the proposal coded CIP 1694 will be implemented. Cardano (ADA) holders will be able to vote on matters contributing to Cardano’s development.
