ChatGPT for MacOS No Longer Requires a Subscription

You can replace Apple’s Spotlight search with ChatGPT for Mac, which can take screenshots with a simple keyboard shortcut, analyze files, and review text.

Apple may not release the integration of Apple Intelligence or ChatGPT with macOS Sequoia until the end of 2024. However, users can bring AI to their Macs starting today. The new ChatGPT app for Mac is now available to all users, beyond just Plus subscribers.

ChatGPT for Mac Now Accessible to All Users

Users can set the CMD + Space keyboard shortcut to use the ChatGPT feature, which means replacing Spotlight. The app works only on Macs with M-series processors and macOS Sonoma or later versions. The Windows version is reported to be coming by the end of 2024.

ChatGPT for Mac provides simple tools for taking screenshots that can be uploaded directly into a query. The same can be done with files, images, or texts selected by the user. Conversations conducted with the app will be archived and can be searched again. You can download ChatGPT for Mac directly from the OpenAI website.
