Elon Musk faces a million-dollar lawsuit from a 14-year-old!
Tesla, the electric car giant owned by Elon Musk, has filed a multi-million dollar 'copyright infringement' lawsuit against a 14-year-old entrepreneur for allegedly using the company's symbols and logos in violation of legal regulations.
Elon Musk And Tesla
Tesla, the company owned by the famous entrepreneur Elon Musk, who holds the title of the world’s second richest person with a net worth of $196.5 billion, is demanding $2 million (approximately 65 million TL) in copyright infringement from a 14-year-old teenager who sells keychains with the Tesla logo produced with a 3D printer over the internet.
This lawsuit contradicts Elon Musk’s previous statements. The famous entrepreneur had stated in a tweet from his personal account on January 12, 2021, ‘You can steal our name and logo, probably sue you,’ suggesting a lenient approach towards such matters.
ACCOUNTS FROZEN
According to the report, the accounts of the online store selling products with the Tesla brand logo were frozen due to copyright infringement, and it was noted that individuals are highly likely to face hefty fines if found guilty.
Tesla company argues in the indictment of the lawsuit that individuals who violate copyright have caused ‘irreparable harm.’
OTHER PRODUCTS INVOLVED IN THE LAWSUIT
According to information obtained from the press, the said trademark counterfeiting case encompasses all products sold on online shopping sites that use copyrighted symbols and logos in violation of legal regulations.
Among the products listed in the evidence files are a t-shirt depicting Musk next to a Tesla Cybertruck and sunglasses printed with the Tesla logo.
