Google AI is coming soon: To be launched with Pixel 9.
Google already offers some AI features for Android phones. The tech giant plans to consolidate these features and add new ones under the Google AI brand, making them available in the Google Pixel 9 series.
What will Google AI offer?
Google AI will include a mix of new and existing features. Circle to Search is already available on Pixel and Galaxy S23 series, while Gemini is available on all Android phones. In addition to these, three new features will be added.
The first new feature is Add Me. This feature uses machine learning to scan other photos and add missing people to group photos. While we don’t have much information about this feature, it seems to be an upgraded version of Best Take. Not only does it change the expressions of people in the photo, but it also combines different shots of various people into one picture.
Another new feature is Studio. This appears to be an all-in-one app that uses AI to create stickers, images, wallpapers, and more based on user text inputs.
The final feature, Screenshots, is very similar to Microsoft’s controversial Recall feature. Recall is a Windows 11 feature that will be exclusive to new Copilot Plus computers. It automatically records everything you do on your computer and uses AI to help you find what you’re looking for. Many people criticized this feature for privacy violations, leading Microsoft to delay its release.
Google’s approach to this feature is different and more privacy-focused. Instead of automatically capturing everything you do, it will only work on screenshots you take yourself and will likely be processed by a local AI, which is a new multimodal version of Gemini Nano.
