Google is launching its new video productivity application, Google Vids, in Workspace Labs. Announced in April, Vids allows users to create videos using artificial intelligence with access to stock videos, images, documents, and voiceovers.

Google Vids makes it easier to create video presentations

While Google Vids enables users to create videos from scratch, it should not be confused with artificial intelligence tools like OpenAI’s Sora, which generate realistic images from prompts. Instead, Vids utilizes Google’s Gemini AI to facilitate the creation of presentation videos.

As seen in the video demonstration, Vids allows users to create video presentations using existing templates. Users can add stock images and videos, generate voiceovers with AI, and automatically detect and cut out pauses and unwanted sections from speeches. In essence, Google Vids aims to significantly simplify the process of video and presentation creation.
