Tom Lee Predicts Bitcoin Will Surpass Gold with a $16 Trillion Market Cap

Tom Lee, the co-founder of Fundstrat Global Advisors and a staunch advocate of a $150,000 Bitcoin price prediction, has stated that Bitcoin will surpass gold in value and reach a market cap of $16 trillion.

Tom Lee, one of the most recognized analysts in the industry, argues that Bitcoin’s market value could increase by over 1,100% from its current value to reach $16 trillion.

In a recent Natalie Brunell podcast, he noted that many investors see Bitcoin as a more useful store of value compared to gold and are increasingly shifting towards Bitcoin.

“When we compare Bitcoin to gold, Bitcoin is more useful and logical in many ways. BTC is much more resilient and practical compared to gold. If you tried to carry a million dollars’ worth of gold, you’d likely need a few friends to help you. However, with Bitcoin, the situation is quite different. If you memorize your address, you can carry a million Bitcoin in a wallet or in your mind.

Therefore, in my view, Bitcoin is a much more useful protection against potential disasters. Beyond that, it certainly has other applications. Over time, it will undoubtedly become widely used, maybe not directly for payments but as a source of collateral or a type of collateral.”

As of writing, Bitcoin has fallen by 0.5% in the last 24 hours and continues to trade at $66,296.
