Tesla announced the recall of all Cybertrucks due to accelerator pedal sticking. A total of 3878 vehicles produced since November 2023 are affected by the issue. Previous reports indicated that Tesla had halted deliveries due to pedal problems. The company has confirmed these reports, acknowledging the issue with the accelerator pedal.

In recent days, a Cybertruck owner shared a video on TikTok showing the accelerator pedal cover coming off and getting stuck in the gap between the front panel and the floor, causing the pedal to remain pressed. The owner mentioned that when the pedal got stuck, they could stop the vehicle by applying the brakes, but when they released the brake, the vehicle accelerated again.

The cause of the issue is the lubricant used.

Tesla states that the issue is caused by the lubricant used to assist in the assembly of the accelerator pedal cover onto the pedal. This lubricant reduces the grip of the cover on the pedal, leading to its dislodgement. The company has announced that the problem will be rectified free of charge for all vehicles.
