At the recent Made by Google event, the latest Pixel devices and several AI advancements were introduced. One of the most intriguing features announced was Gemini Live, developed by Google. Offered as an AI assistant on your phone, Gemini Live is more advanced than Google Assistant and also provides chat capabilities.
What is Gemini Live?
Gemini Live, introduced at the Made by Google event, is one of the most powerful AI chatbots developed by Google, now available for Android. With advanced features, it can engage in two-way conversations using human-like voice, similar to the capability found in ChatGPT. Currently, Gemini Live is available for Pixel and Samsung phones.
Despite being newly introduced, Gemini Live is already available for Gemini Advanced subscribers, though it is currently limited to Pixel phones and select Galaxy devices. If you don’t have a Samsung or Pixel device, you’ll need to subscribe for a monthly fee of 21.99 USD to use this feature.
If you want to use the app on your device, follow these steps:
1. Update the Google Gemini app on your phone.
2. Update the Google app as well.
3. Log in to your Google Account using your Gemini Advanced subscription.
4. Open the Gemini app.
5. Click on the AI Voice button located in the bottom right corner.
6. Once you see the Gemini Live screen, click the Start button to begin a voice chat.
If you don’t see the feature even after updating, it may not have been integrated into your account or device yet. Although it currently only supports the English language, more language options are expected to be added in the coming months.
