Meta, one of the world’s leading companies in artificial intelligence, has been working to integrate its models into all its applications, from Instagram to WhatsApp. Now, there’s a new development regarding the AI features on WhatsApp.

Meta AI has been available on WhatsApp in certain countries for some time. Although it hasn’t reached us yet, we are sharing the company’s updates with you. One of these updates was noticed in the latest beta of the application by WABetaInfo. The company will soon allow users to choose their preferred model.

Users will be able to choose between Meta’s Llama language models.

WhatsApp is introducing a feature that allows users to choose the AI model they want according to their needs.

WhatsApp’s AI features have been powered by Meta’s language models called “Llama.” Just like ChatGPT has different versions (such as GPT-4, GPT-3.5), Llama also has various versions. This new feature specifically caters to that.

Users will soon be able to select the Llama language model that best suits their needs. This will elevate their interactions with AI to a new level. For instance, one model might provide faster responses, while another could be used for more complex commands.

The default model, Llama 3-70B, is designed for quick and simple tasks. Additionally, users will have access to a more advanced version, Llama 3-405B, although access to this model will be limited on a weekly basis. This means it can only be used for a certain number of commands, after which users will revert to the unlimited use of the 3-70B model.

The language model switching feature on WhatsApp is currently being tested in the US. The release date is still unknown. We also don’t know when Meta will roll out WhatsApp’s AI features to users in our country.
