Xiaomi has taken a significant step in production by establishing a fully automated factory in China, operated by robots 24/7.

This “dark factory” is equipped with advanced AI systems capable of producing smartphones without human intervention, self-cleaning, and even optimizing production lines.

Producing Foldable Phones

The Xiaomi Mi Fold 4 and Xiaomi Mi X Flip foldable smartphones are manufactured by robots in this factory.

Xiaomi’s smart factory has officially transitioned to full-capacity production recently.

Built with an investment of 2.4 billion yuan (329 million USD), the factory can produce 10 million flagship smartphones annually.

The production quality of the factory will be monitored by the company’s self-developed smart machines. It is claimed that the production process can produce one smartphone unit every second. The new factory in Changping covers a construction area of 81,000 square meters.

With this factory, the Chinese company aims to minimize human errors, reduce production costs, and respond more quickly to market demands.
