Neuralink Chip Faces Issue as Implanted in Human Skull for the First Time.
The American neurotechnology company Neuralink, founded by Elon Musk, reported that the chip they implanted in a human skull for the first time is starting to detach from the brain.

According to a written statement from Neuralink’s website, the 64 connection wires implanted in Noland Arbaugh’s brain tissue have begun to retract, causing a decrease in the amount of data received by the processor and battery in his skull.
The company stated that the reduction in processed data due to the retraction of the wires does not pose a danger to the health of the first brain chip user, Arbaugh, and noted that efforts are underway to improve the functionality of the device.
Arbaugh, who had the chip implanted in his brain on January 28th, was only able to play chess by thinking in the weeks following the surgery. Neuralink announced in late February that the chip had been capturing less data.
Arbaugh, who became paralyzed in his hands and feet after an accident about 8 years ago, played chess using the chip despite the issue during a live broadcast on May 4th from account X.
